Have you (or the distro) configured your system to clean out /tmp? And
yes, it is safe to clean them up (or if it's not, LO is abusing the /tmp

This is the standard LO on Mac. I have noticed that same on Gentoo
Linux though, but wouldn't know how to configure the build so LO cleans
up these files when it closes.
Which actually brings me to the other question I have asked here an in a
forum without an answer yet: how to you terminate LO cleanly?

Perhaps I'm going about this incorrectly which leads these files behind.
Thanks!
