checks happen on the lists.freedesktop.org policy, not on the yahoo.XX

Wrong. If dmarc checks could be circumvented that easily, it would
turn DMARC pretty pointless (i.e. completely non-functional).

Noone using a email provider that follows yahoos dmarc policy (such as
gmail) has received the initial mail by Ashod via the list.

Making a list work with yahoo adresses would either mean: Not altering
it in any way (i.e. no mailinglist footer, no
attachment-stripping/thml-to-txt conversion, no adding of list-name in
subject, etc) or to change the from-address (i.e. no way to easily use
reply-all to send mail to the initial poster)
