What's the output of "nm -D --defined solver/*/lib/libneon,so | wc -l" for
you with those changes? For me the old one is 280.
the old one:
nm -D --defined solver/*/lib/libneon.so | wc -l : 285

the new one, without .map file:

new one, with .map file:

Those differences are indeed nothing to worry about.
