Neat, let me try that on one of the tinderboxen - would then be in
favour of running it unconditionally.
add running the subsequenttests to the default make check target ?
Since about a minute that is a good idea. The Junit tests are skipped
now if there is no Junit jar available (or if Java is disabled).
