Hi Kami,

thanks for your offer :-)

Hi Christoph,

Your work looks outstanding, congratulation. Only only note of mine that
the icons of templates are very similar to normal documents.

Cool that you like it - the "thanks" have to be spread among several
people at the Design Team list. There has been a lot of great feedback
and some people who contributed

I think we should change templates icon a bit to make them visually more
separated. What about to put a wider strip to the top of the icon? It
can be as wide as the earmark with same color.

Oh yes, still a problem ... we had quite some discussion to make them
more unique (there is some feedback on [1]), but we failed (in the given
time) to harmonize that with the document symbol. As long as we use
these (with regard to the branding planning, two or three releases) ...

But - now the good message - most of the template icons are presented
"in context". So, the "Templates and Documents" dialog provides a lot of
clues to make people aware.

However, I don't like to talk like that - since the issue remains ;-) On
the other hand, some people thought that we shouldn't miss the
opportunity to do something unique - spreading the "Document Foundation"
message among the desktops.

We'll have a look at that, I'm sure. Until then, how about looking
whether they work at all ...

I can help to integrate it to the git repo. But here we should define
deadline. Maybe we want it to put to 3.3.0 ar 3.3.1 is sufficient?

Oh, thanks! In the meantime, Thorsten was so keen and created an issue
among with some patchsets (as far as I understood). But, sorry, I didn't
think about reporting back ... I feel a bit lost in discussions on
another mailing list.

Here is the issue:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33229

Maybe Thorsten can comment if things are missing at the moment ...

KAMI

Again, thanks!

Cheers,
Christoph

Hi Developers!

Sorry for bothering you ... but we'll bother you nevertheless :-)

So guys, please have a look at the request by Bernhard (below), since we
rely on your support to make LibreOffice visually distinctive. Why?
Because the currently packaged icons refer to the wrong product - using
the (so called) Sun S-curve, adding OOo Galaxy Style colors and adding
seagulls.

Concerning the latter, and since I consider myself to be an "animal
lover", I'd like them to release them into nature ;-)))

Here is the current state of our work:

Finally, and since you already put so much energy into LibreOffice,
please support us to make users aware of that!

Cheers,
Christoph

Hi all,

the LibreOffice Design Team is working hard to finalize an iconset
containing MimeType icons for application/documents and templates in
order to replace the present icons from OOo 3.0 to 3.2.

If you want to have a look at the present state, please visit the wiki:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/LibreOffice_Initial_Icons#Present_State_of_the_Icon_Design

We don't know if there will be a chance to integrate them in the final
release for LibO 3.3.0 (this will have to be decided, when the iconset
is ready), but even if they make it in LibO 3.3.1 only, we need to know
how to format the icons and what are the names to be used for easiest
packaging.

The ODF icon page [1] shows several file names (probably used in OOo).
Are they the same in LibO?

With the proper information the design team will try to provide the
icons in the best possible way.

Best regards

Bernhard
