As far as I can see, with my patch applied, if my libdb-dev gets
missing, "./configure --with-system-db" will fail.

You might have missed the fact that the db_header shell variable is
not set in the environment, it is local to the ./configure script.


Yeah, know that but didn't take it in mind. Anyway, as said, already pushed;
I don't consider it release-blocker worthy, so no attempt even to get it into
-3-3-0. -3-3, hmm, maybe.
