Hello all,
I’d like to request a UX review of Bug 38062 (see also my Comment 26), which concerns how LibreOffice handles folder navigation when saving files.

The issue is not limited to the “Save As” dialog. If the document window is minimised or closed using the top‑right controls and then reopened, the file dialog also resets to the top of the folder instead of returning to the previous position. This makes it difficult to work with large directories and interrupts workflows that involve repeated navigation.

Other applications (including Windows Explorer and many editors) preserve the scroll position or return to the previously selected item, which provides a smoother and more predictable experience. Could the UX team please evaluate whether LibreOffice should adopt similar behaviour? It would significantly improve usability for anyone working with large or deeply nested folder structures.

Thanks for your time.
Kindest Regards. John
