I fear that we're promoting this (AFAIK horrible) internal in-file
versioning feature. I'm unsure that we want to do anything to make that
more prominent - it seems like a confusing combination of concerns that
are prolly better kept separate (to me at least). By the time we have
red-lining, and in-file-versioning, and out-of-file versioning to show
all in the same place ... ;-)
I was hoping we'd end up with a nice place to make document specific
details more easy to find and handle; for example:
* file-list - of all embedded files -> "drag and drop
images out"
* accessibility information -> how many items without labels?
* spreadsheet formulae summary: what formulae are used, and
where, and what are the external references to and ...
* document level defaults & settings
* ...
There are lots of 'document level' details - like versioning that we
are missing a nice central place to put. AFAICS a chunk of interesting
new functionality that would be easy to draw together, and present in a
convenient central location rather than scattered across a large set of
hidden dialogs and menu items left & right.
I guess this doesn't solve my problem in this regard.
ATB,
Michael.
