Google Summer of Code

  * Template Manager (Akshay)
        + List view for Template manager tdf#63256
            + what is the benefit? (Jay)
                + users demand that - to see the paths, and fit more on the 
screen (Samuel)
                + inspired by a bugreport (Samuel)
            + the main point is to see the previews (Jay)
                + scrolling not an issue - there is 'search' (Jay)
            + of course file manager has a different demands, there it makes 
sense (Jay)
            + could be done: split view - list on the left, previews on the 
right (Heiko)
        + Removal of bottom controls in Template Selection dialog + other 
controls to be added
        + is that on by default (that every user sees that when launching 
impress)? (Kendy)
            + it is off by default, happy about that (Kendy)
                + prefer a button in a toolbar (or something), instead of 
starting
                  with a modal dialog (Kendy)
            + should be on by default with easy means of disabling (Jay)
                + would prefer a re-think of how people create documents 
(Kendy)
                + ie. how the people open "presentation app"
                + or info bar - but I hate modal dialogs ;-) (Kendy)
                + have a doc about the 'new document interaction' (Jay)

  * Progress of Area Fill project (Rishabh)
      + Bubli is concerned about feature loss when CMYK would be removed
      + Keep the code and remove the access to it UI-wise; not simple because 
there are some bugs
        + Option 1: Do it, decided by UX team - (samuel, jay, heiko)
        + Option 2: Ask via design ML
        + Option 3: Ask via G+ survey - (bubli)
        -> remove access in the UI, keep the code to be removed later
        -> tell people in the upcoming blog post
      + Color picker needs some time
      + Pattern: large number of predefined patterns to aim for compatibility 
or have a smaller number for simplicity
      + Hatching: remove this in favor of (better) patterns

  * Progress of Sidebar Improvements (Susobhan)
      + Still working on page deck, header/footer panel
      + Input from Writer hacker is needed
      + Two panels under review (page format - goes into master, page margin - 
issue with duplicated code)
      + Page content panel on Properties deck will be removed soon; new page 
deck is comming
      + Planned: outstanding issues in area panel - https://

    + Automatically create screenshots of every LibO dialog; manual
