I'm interested in area fill project idea for gsoc.

Yep alot of students seem to be interested in it, so if you think you have skills for it, do submit a proposal.

I've sent these patches so far:

Looked over your commits and didnt see any commits focused on things that would be needed to complete area fill.

What do you recommend to start working on about this idea? Or do you
suggest any other project ideas to work on?

I'd recommend you possibly look at another project as some previous GSoC students are also eyeing the area fill. I'm very keen to have 'Support ODF styles in orcus' done, as it is needed in order to integrate the new set of Calc styles that the design team worked on, which then can be shown off in the toolbar and sidebar when the style previews are corrected.

If that doesnt interest you, then Special characters dialog, Table styles, and template manager tasks (Template Manager, Integration of the templates repository) are good choices, though there are students also applying for these.

If you are intending to apply for UI related projects, you should ideally submit more UI relate patches. I believe these ones are quite easy, so try some. :D

Best regards.
