Dear all,
Nice to meet you all as i have just joined the list.
My name is Stefanos Malliaros and i am a Phd Researcher in Information
Security and at the moment my field of study is live Forensics. That is, i
examine the data that exist in RAM while an application is running and when
the application is terminated.
I have to admit that regarding the password protected documents you have
done a very good work,
I have found out that when i open a document and i enter the password to
unlock it i cannot find the password i entered inside the RAM at all. To
capture the RAM i am using vrtual machines and freeze them so as to be able
to copy the data from RAM without alteration.
Could you please describe me briefly how do you do it? For example do you
copy the string to a buffer and then perform operations and then free the
buffer? (e.g. malloc command from C language)
Thanks in advance and i'm looking forward for your prompt reply
