Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, I can't make this week's IRC chat.
I also haven't really taken care of the tasks from our last chat, which I
hope to partly remedy with this message.
1) Concerning the "Size optimization for ODF format", here's a thread from
a few years ago:
http://osdir.com/ml/openoffice.devel.user-experience/2008-05/msg00014.html.
If you read through to the end, you'll find that there are two
prevailing
opinions: a) move the option to "Advanced" and leave it on by default; or
b) remove the option along with the beautifier code and leave XML
beautification up to other software/extensions. I lean toward the latter,
as I feel it's not LibreOffice's job to beautify code and if anyone is
serious about editing the ODF XML, then he can use a third-party XML
beautifier.
2) About the infobar UI element: yes, it seems it'd be possible to have it,
but we'd need to design it first, and it should be well thought out.
