It's LibreOffice's document icon. I don't think it will change anytime soon. That's not what I meant. I just wanted to point out that the icon doesn't neccessarily have to look like the Libreoffice logo. To show what I mean I've done some quick drafts for all the "new file" icons. http://ubuntuone.com/3tyGrwQT7tTyjD39phBdub
I don't really see the harm in using the current symbol for a document (which uses the LibreOffice logo as its base; the LibreOffice logo itself represents a digital file). The logo carries the message that you're creating a new LibreOffice document, whereas a simple rectangle could be interpreted as "new page", "add rectangle"/"add media" (depending on whether it's empty), "new file" (generic), etc. Nevertheless, you're welcome to add your proposals to the wiki page: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Whiteboards/Flat_icon_set -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to design+help@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
