Hi all!

Sorry for commenting a bit late, but my vacation just ended ... so I'm
back and crawling through my mails (during the last days).

I agree with Andrew. I have faced this 'issue' too. In my case, this
happens when I am moving back and forth between my laptop and desktop.
My desktop has a 24 inch monitor and when I am working on a document, I
zoom in to about 150% there. When I want to work on the same document on
my laptop that has a samller screen, LibO remembers (rightfully so) that
the zoom level for the document is 150% but left aligns the page showing
empty margins while center aligning the page would still be able to
display the contents properly.

I hope someone could shed light on this behavior - is this an expected
one? a designed feature, or a bug that needs fixing?

Well, personally I think that is another issue - there are some similar
problems that drive people drive nuts with regard to multi-page views.

Andrew, there may be issues with the zoom slider. If done properly,
there could even be some difference between "setting the zoom via the
slider" (limiting the default zoom level) and "setting it via number
entry" (providing a larger zoom range).

For those who might work on improvement proposals, here is an
(extensive) list of what we've collected in the OOo UX team. If some
tiny issues could be resolved (e.g. by providing a good description how
it should work), then this would be very helpful:

Cheers,
Christoph

well I can kinda see how some one could use it but I just wanted to talk
about the centering mostly. like I said it is stupid.

why does LibreOffice writer even have a 600% zoom. I don't see a reason
to
have more than 200% to 300% zoom. I can see it in an art program like
draw,
GIMP, inkscape but not a word processor. why does this not center, I like
to
keep it at 145% so that it is the biggest size that it can be and I can
still see the hole page left to right.
You probably don't need that big a zoom, but at least I do need it when
I'm hacking on some Writer painting code to check that things are
properly aligned and displayed.
