Please could we have Themes (like Personas of Firefox)?
I doubt that an application background image would look good in a current version of LibreOffice, if it would work at all. I think (but I don't really know), currently every UI element is rendered as a rectangle without alpha transparency – so you'd probably always see the corners of UI elements overlaying the image. In that respect Firefox's layout engine is probably much better than LibreOffice's. If you're thinking about adding an image in the background behind the document, there is a discussion about adding the motif there: see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:2011-04-02_DocumentBorder_Idea_1_Plain_DocumentShadow_ApplBackground-Gradient-Motif.png and http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Whiteboards/DocumentBackground .
