[libreoffice-design] Save As file format redundancy

Is it necessary to list the file format extensions twice in the drop down list of file formats when 
in the Save As dialog box?


e.g. ODT Text Document (.odt) (*.odt)


is it really necessary to list "odt" twice (or even thrice!)?
