Many thanks for the LibreOffice logo(s) for external use.
Is there any way to get some "Support" logo(s) as well? Something like
"Support LibreOffice" or "I Support LibreOffice" as subline. We would
need a few different versions for external use.
I don't think that these people need a logo - they need a button or
something similar.
A subline might be reasonable for dedicated groups to describe their
position in relation to the community / TDF.
- "community member" after approval by the membership committee.
- "community distributor" after agreement to some distribution rules.
- "xxx team member" if there is a way to define a team (not sure about that)
In my opinion these logos can be used to reward activity and dedication to
the community. Being a "supporter" is too vague for me...
A button "I support LibreOffice" is definitively a very good option, but it needs
to be designed in a way that respects the whitespace area around the logo.
Also, should we also have a Grayscale and b/w version of any LibreOffice
logos that are destined for external use?
Yes - I just haven't had the time to create them.
I am thinking of
people/groups/clubs printing a local newsletter who would want to
include any of the logos for their members etc. We should perhaps have
the same formats as the internal logos available as the official set:
Grayscale Logo, Black/White Logo, Inverted Logo. Should we offer the
Color Logo Basic as well?
Yes - but I'd like to see it with the grey tone of the contemporary logo instead
of the pure black.
And we need CMYK vector versions as well as spot color descriptions
(Pantone, HKS ...).
I wanted to have at least anything as resource to use.
As we have much more to do right now, I would wait for people asking for
special versions of the logo before spending time with creating additional
versions nobody really needs at the moment.
We might have an improved version of the logo soon - so I don't think it is
worth the time to create all the versions right now.
These would all be offered in the different sizes as well, just to make
it easy for people to download. We want to get our logo out to as many
people/groups/clubs as possible.
We should offer our standard logo for easy download. But except of an
inverted logo for dark backgrounds I'd like to point people to this mailing
list, if they want to use different versions.
If somebody has the time and interest to work on this topic, he/she is
welcome to create even more logo versions.
In the end we'll have all the versions you mentioned, but I want to
concentrate on IMHO more important topics - and as they include the
logo improvement (Joey mentioned kerning and ligatures) this work
might have to be repeated soon.
Best regards
Bernhard
