will have to be created. I didn't have the time to do so by now, but
perhaps anybody else can step in here.

I personally prefer the ones that have "Community Distributor" without
the version number.

No problem - we can discuss this when we design the labels and cases.

They should be based on the initial branding design until we'll define
a community branding design (probably next year).

As part of the initial branding the logo is finalized, but will
probably see major changes when the community branding will be
established.

The Resources section, about half way down the page, are those the
'Official' logos for now?

Yes: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/Branding#Resources

If so why does the SVG version have a pinkish
background and the PNG versions have a transparent background?

The background only shows the area covered by the logo that shouldn't be reduced.

In the source file it is part of a different layer and has not to be included in any export.

The color only shows the difference between white (in the symbol) and transparent (background).

Best regards

Bernhard
