are you sure? Last time I tried in the hotel to put in my regular German
power plugs, it didn't work out. Either the socket was a bit too small,
or the distance between both pins was different.

Sorry to dwell on this. The German two pin-plugs with female earth don't fit because the pins are thicker than the holes in the plastic shields, but the unearthed *Europlugs* and similar ones do fit.

Swiss pins are 4 mm diameter and 18.4 mm apart. You can thus also use insulated 4 mm banana plugs.
