are you sure? Last time I tried in the hotel to put in my regular German 
power plugs, it didn't work out. Either the socket was a bit too small, 
or the distance between both pins was different.

Maybe I was just unlucky, but having an adaptor clearly can't hurt, I 
guess... :-)
