Nachtrag:
Ich habe hier im Büro zwei opensuse-Produktivmaschinen stehen.
Bei der einen (LO 4.0.2) geht die MySQL-Verbindung - bei der
anderen (LO 4.0.3) ging es kurz, aber jetzt auch nicht mehr.
Noch ein Nachtrag:
Durch manuelle Installation der MySQL-Extension vom Schwesterprojekt Apache
OpenOffice geht der Zugriff auf MySQL wieder.
Eine Einschränkung: Passwortloses Login geht damit nicht...
