Reading the information about 3.3.3 coming out in a few weeks, and 3.4.1
by the end of the month, I was wondering about having 2 DVD version for
the NA DVD. 3.3.x line for commercial most-stable work, and 3.4.x line
for the non-commercial work till 3.4.x is past its first dot numbers.
It would be nice to do that, all we need to do it mark the label 3.3 and
3.4.
I already have the 3.4.0 testing site online for some initial testing
and work to make it better. We may want to look into the extra software
and see about any updates. Firefox now has a 4.x line, while the 3.3
DVD has the 3.x version. There may be others that are updated as well.
Then when 3.4.1 comes out, it will be ready to be updated to those files
for final testing.
The schedule for
3.4.x is 3.3.x is
June 29th - 3.4.1 June 15th - 3.3.3
July 27th - 3.4.2
Aug 31st - 3.4.3 Aug 31st - 3.3.4
Oct 5th - 3.4.4 Oct 19th - 3.3.5
Nov 23 - 3.4.5
3.5.0 is scheduled for Feb of 2012.
So we can work on keeping the 3.3 line going for the business people as
the most stable version[s] and offer 3.4 line as the one that has the
newest features being included.
WE all could work on some text describing the pros and cons of using
each of the lines, so we can make sure the users know what version/line
is best for their needs.
The lists have some "agreement" that some groups will want the most
stable "product line" for their business use, while other would like to
use the version that has the most up-to-date features and the newest
offerings for them to try.
