Hi Benjamin, Gabriel, et al
Noting the entry on the Events calendar for TECH 2011, College of St.
Rose in June.
Fellas this looks, to me, as a very good event for us to have a presence
at, with a booth.
$500 for a table would be the cost, from looking at the vendor pdf file.
I see that both of you are tentative on this, Albany is within striking
distance for a drive for me also, A weekend in June, in upstate NY
doesn't sound like a bad drive either.
Many show organizers frown on vendors sharing a table but perhaps with
two non-profit vendors and a first time venue this could be overcome -
which is all by way of asking this question. I wonder if their might not
be interest from the Ingot organization in splitting the cost of a table
at this event, assuming we have people to fill the chairs.
I guess before that question would be: How would folks feel about doing
such a thing, sharing space with the Ingot group? That would come before
approaching anyone at Ingot of course...
Just thinking out loud - comments or thoughts?
Thanks
Drew
Actually, this was also on my list of things to do. I was also wondering
about Ingot in N.America. We do have representation (I can't seem to
find my notes on this at the moment). Should we see the Ingot group as
almost a partnership with LibreOffice. They are providing some form of
accreditation for us. I also find that they are as visible as the
LibreOffice at the moment.
Ingot may have access to some funds for conferencing and perhaps it may
mean our asking if we could (at this very beginning) pair up with them
at conferences and help in giving them some exposure in the N.American
market. Or it could be that they could apply for some American or
Canadian funds for this purpose.
I, for one, would have no problem sharing a table/booth with Ingot.
Have we gotten an official SC note on its recognition of Ingot and its
courses?
Marc
