Hi,
There is a bit of problem at the moment.
Early on Andy Brown and I acquired the domains names:
libreoffice.us and documentfoundation.us, respectively.
Andy and I have both pointed these domain records to the respective .org
sites, but there is apparently a problem with the current servers being
able, or willing, to accept such redirects.
The other options are of course to move the DNS record to a server
within the TDF control and within Germany, and basically the same thing,
to transfer ownership of the domains to TDF and let them move to the
German DNS servers.
Problem is, to my best knowledge, that is not allowed under current US
regulations. ( This should change when all the legal paper work is
done..I think).
But for today here is what happens.
LibreOffice.us goes to a parked page.
DocumentFoundation.us goes to a 404 error page.
Not acceptable IMO.
What I propose for the immediate solution is to put up a simple, an
appropriately themed, static html page with a little blurb or text and a
link to the .org site.
@Andy - I can put a page together and send it to you later tonight or
tomorrow.
Thanks
Drew
