Du skriver att du följt instruktionerna för hur man kopierar och döper 
om filer i Hsqldb men du nämner inte vilka instruktioner du menar.
Har jag förstått det rätt att du försöker att skapa en databas i Hsqldb 
servern och ansluta till denna från LibreOffice Base?

Det finns lite spridda instruktioner så för att jag ska kunna peka dig i 
rätt riktning så skulle det vara bra att få verifierat att jag förstått 
det du försöker göra lite bättre.
