А дальше видимо перевести чего-нибудь и залить обратно в репозиторий
(если я не ошибаюсь делается это командами commit и push)... Попробуй
tortoise git, если ты под виндой работаешь, довольно удобная штука...

Т.е., к примеру, как обновить репозиторий? Нужно ли создавать новую ветку?
1. скачали репозиторий по команде из [1]
2. скачали po файл из [2]
3. ... а дальше?
