Bij het schrijven van lange woorden, die vaak bestaan uit twee of meer
woorden aan elkaar, gebruik ik altijd koppelstreepjes (-), dus
formulegroepen wordt formule-groepen. Zie tevens, dat de
spellingcontrole er mee akkoord gaat. Ook vertaalmachines gebruiken
die truuk.
Dat is helaas ook niet juist. Dat mag maar in een paar gevallen.
Bijvoorbeeld bij botsende klinkers: Pagina-achtergrond bij Opties, Writer, Afdrukken. Dat staat nu
los.
Of bij afkortingen, b.v. IP-adres.
Aan spellingscontrole heb je weinig bij samenstellingen.
Die herkent vaak alleen de onderdelen, waardoor de indruk kan ontstaan dat het niet aan elkaar
hoort.
