In Open Source software zoals LibreOffice worden tekstbestanden standaard opgeslagen als ODF-tekstbestand (.odt) (open document text) en werkbladen als ODF-werkblad (.ods) (open document sheet).

Mijn ervaring is dat programma's als Microsoft Office deze bestanden gewoon kunnen openen en gebruiken. Probeer dat maar eens uit met een van u ontvangers in plaats van de bestanden op te slaan als Microsoft bestand.
