[libreoffice-website] Minutes from the Tue Oct 15 infra call

Participants

2. Brett
3. cloph

Agenda
======

* build bots:
+ gandalf: all set on the box except recent enough JRE version for the
jenkins client
- AI cloph
+ cloph's bots end up in gustl's blacklist sometimes, can't whitelist the
ip as it's dynamic
- some connection problems with windows and mac box, but oddly enough not
on linux
- annoying but nothing urgently
. AI guilhem: setup OpenVPN on vm145 and see if that helps (RouterOS's
OpenVPN server is old and limited, eg no UDP, no client-cert auth, etc)
+ tb69:
- Brett: not sure if Norbert sent the box, haven't received anyway
- AI guilhem to send VPN creds, but Brett to ping first on reception
- AI guilhem: check with Norbert if the box was shipped
* PiTR
+ Jitsi call with Brett on Wed Oct 23 at 15:00 UTC 2019
* SSO: pinging devs was helpful, now 80% active gerrit accounts (in the past
30 days) in SSO (from 60%)
+ Next steps?
+ Cloph: how easy would it be to show a banner in the login page or gerrit
itself?
- g: not trivial in the login page, but there is
https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/Documentation/pg-plugin-endpoints.html#_banner
- guilhem to install and configure
* Update check
+ metrics are now in Matomo
+ PoC re-implem using ngx_http_lua_module (luaJIT)
+ working on integrating matomo-export-log script into nginx too (with
asynchronous subrequests - faster and smaller mem footprint)
+ Could have a better status code when there is no update available (need
to make sure it doesn't confuse LO though)
- Could also use the query string instead of parsing the user agent — for
future versions
+ Two requests per check: OPTIONS/PROFIND + GET:
[15/Oct/2019:03:51:41 +0200] "OPTIONS /check.php?pkgfmt=rpm HTTP/1.1" 200 183 "-" "LibreOffice 6.3.2.2 (98b30e735bda24bc04ab42594c85f7fd8be07b9c; Linux; X86_64; )"
[15/Oct/2019:03:51:42 +0200] "GET /check.php?pkgfmt=rpm HTTP/1.1" 200 143 "-" "LibreOffice 6.3.2.2 (98b30e735bda24bc04ab42594c85f7fd8be07b9c; Linux; X86_64; )"
Seems redundant
Cloph: maybe left overs from older versions, would need to read the code
to find out
* Next call: Tue Nov 19 17:30:00 UTC 2019 (note: winter time)
