Well I tried to register and/or log in, but I got stuck creating the account and could not find my
way off the login page. Hopefully you can answer my question this way. And yes, I did try using the
wiki/user guide, but could not make heads or tails of them.

I want to create a column into which I will enter text, but I don't want text in it to begin with.
I just want a blank column. Think of a True/False test that you might have seen in school, where
there is a narrow column on the left side of the page. Maybe a half-inch wide column along the left
margin. It could have vertical lines delineating the column - or not. It's not important to me.
Although if it is necessary for some reason, please tell me how.

Whenever I try to create such a column the software tries to enter some text which is already in
the document, into that column. I just moves existing text into that column. But I want a blank
column, where I can type T or F, as needed. And all the other text on the page stays where it
started.

Thanks for your help. I wonder if I can find my question online somewhere, like other mailing lists
I've used?? I'll search. But please email an answer to this address (I'm not typing it, in case
this will actually be online somewhere).

Thanks for your help.
