Yep, auth.tdf and user.tdf having no problems, I logged out from SSO like
your instructions,
but the server still returns an error message.

No, unfortunately that'd loose linking information. You can login to
auth.tdf and user.tdf with your old username or new email address.
You should be able to regain access to your Silverstripe account now,
but you'll probably need to logout from SSO and then back in again.
