The "download the plain apk" links to v1, but there are newer versions here:

v8/v9 is current version in playstore now. (also updated the mirrors now)
Is there are reason we link to the older version, or can I update the link?
No reason than not remembering that we have a hard link there...
Are we OK to send people that second link, reminding them that the software
is still in beta?
all versions can be considered "beta" at this stage, especially when
it comes to the experimental editing features.
