Very likely there is nothing in the browser's info strings that could
guess the website correctly...
Please visit the downloadpage and have chromium display the sourcecode
(<ctrl>+u)
search for »"typography"« (with the " quotes as to match the div and
not stylesheets), or just scroll down to around line 75
There's a html-comment listing the User-Agent string that is used to
determine the OS, architecture as well as deb/rpm..
If there's something that leads to the conclusion that it is from a
deb-based distro, then the detection can be adjusted. If it is just a
generic one, then the default will be used (and that is rpm)
Using Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2 detection is correct – 'deb' in this case.
very likely that mentions ubuntu in the user-agent string, while
chormium doesn't...
