Not sure, I don't know it :-) - but from what I read, it is designed to
be plugged into apt for the purpose of the upgrades; but if it can
handle also arbitrary changes to the configuration files (like that I
see log of changes I made to the configuration), I am happy. And I see
that git can be used as the backend, so...
yes, etckeeper can also track changes made manually, without
debconf/package management. :-)
We plan to deploy it in the new infra platform anyways, so if it is not
urgent, I will wait until we have that one in place.
