Yes, button is missing but it's not up to permissions.
Images will insert once you type e.g. an 'alt' text and press [enter].
Thank you for pointing to the right direction. Actually I notice that SS
has no uniform usability since "links" have an insert button. Thus, my
misunderstanding...
Silverstripe 3.4.5 (libreofficebox.org) still shows a button for this
purpose.
At libreoffice.org no version number is available at time, but I know
that Christian did some updates. (I'm a lot slower (and older)) ;)
