Looked at the mailqueue on the server - the only mails in the queue
are to @broffice.org - the mx apparently is not responding/requests
times out.

But as you're using gmail:

gmail will not show the copy of the mail you receive from the
mailinglist, only the mail as it leaves gmail. i.e. you will see your
mail without list-footers, without added list-headers. As sent mail is
not put in your inbox, you won't see it/you don't notice whether the
mail hits the list or not (unless you get replies to your message :-))
- you have to look at the archives themselves.
