The 3rd-level menu on the Get Involved page is essentially a duplicate
of the second level menu - I came across this after Christian made
changes to the template navigation code, so this won't be a CSS issue.
I think there is a setting somewhere in Silverstripe to take care of
this on a page-by-page basis (maybe Christian can point you in the
right direction)
The discussion on this seems to have stalled without a result - so
what exactly should the side-menu contain for the different levels?
Once there is an agreement on that, it's easy to adapt the templates
that assemble the pages accordingly.
