Ok, I've been working on some markup, and an image for the meter.

Here is a screenshot:

Horizontal

The script isn't finished yet, but the basics of the markup are (it's
just text and text styling left - oh, and I'm just working on adding a
scale gauge to the meter).

that branding/design comes up with a nice graphic to fill with a
bar/color/other image.
