a) assign Del key to Delete Table action even when cells (and not just the
frame) are selected; or
If you want to change the cell content, Delete might become handy ;-). So no to
delete the table from anywhere else but the frame.

b) make single-click on the edge of fully-selected table select (or toggle
selection of) only the frame.
The user expects operation on the whole object (cut or delete) without
dependency to any selection state. Don't get the point with double-click here.
