Want to put photos or other images into shapes? Insert and select shape,
then Insert > Image. To adjust image, right-click on selected shape and
choose Area.
Sounds good. Alternatively, "Bored of rectangular images? Add a circle pie from
basic shapes and Insert > Image..."

Is there an easy way to show an image of a toolbar icon in a tip of the day?
Every tip may have its own image. You need to upload the image, add the
reference at the tip (replaces tipoftheday_w|c|d.png), and adjust the make
file. The how-to is documented on top of the hrc file. Take care of the image
size: te dialog scales (not tested recently) accordingly, IIRC.
