Aren't "LOWER" function in Calc and Format->Text->Lowercase in Writer
cross-platform?
To my knowledge there is no lower() (or any similar) function in Writer -
except using a macro.
As Mike said, it's Format -> Text -> lowercase (which actually does not format
but convert the text).
CharClass::lowercase() is cross-platform (and locale dependent).
