Show TC has the use case of cleaning up the document view from all
modifications and to show the final result (or requested in bug 116757 how it
looked originally). For example, showing TC affects the line breaks.
It's not meant to block the function completely. You may have the context menu
in mind but there is the TC toolbar too, and (in experimental mode) the sidebar
deck, that provide access to functions.
So while I agree that it's suboptimal for the context menu, it WFM and it's a
WF.
