the Style&Formatting dialog.

Was afraid of this answer ;-).

So what we need is an indicator at the various properties which one has been
overridden. For example, "Caption" has the children "Drawing" and when font
style is set bold there instead of italic from the parent it should get an
identification. Known solutions are a small icon next to the label, simpler is
to add a * to the label or to modify it's appearance, e.g. text in blue. But
the latter could get into conflict with the theme.
