What do you mean?
They use up to <many> numbering levels.
Another option would be to just hide some heading levels by default, not
remove them.
That would at least clean the list in the sidebar a bit up.
As long as they can be used, that .looks fine for me.
(I think I remember Jay / Joel / .. looked at this before, by the way.)
