as Adolfo correctly pointed out we already have the "File/Recent
Documents/Clear List" menu item.
however I agree with Valter that this option should be "more visible" in the
Start Center itself rather that in that file menu only
I see two potential solutions:
1- put a black triangle on the right of the "Recent Files" button that opens a
dropdown menu with the same items you have in the menu, including "Clear List"
2- allow right clicking in the empty space of the thumbnails panel to show a
"Clear List" menu item
my preferred solution would be number 1.
I often find myself in the situation of clearing the list and it would be much
more intuitive and user friendly to do that from a Recent Files dropdown menu
or from a right click menu rather than in the File menu.
I agree with Adolfo that a confirmation of the clear list is unnecessary and
would probably be only irritating
I set status to NEW and put this on "ux-advise"
I also edit the summary notes...the current "File deletion in the Start Center"
which is too generic and incorrect (we are not deleting files, but just
clearing their thumbs from the list) and I think a better description would be:
"Start Center: Clear List item should more accessible"
