I can live with the "double-click" proposal; however, I'm not used to
double-clicking on such controls, so without being told that such a feature
existed I might never discover it. What might be better, if it's possible, is
to have double-clicking advance the tabs an entire screen-width, rather than
just one tab; and to have a tripple-click advance to the beginning or end, as
appropriate.
