I'd say it's not the usual sidebar at all.
+1 for having it updated according the HIG (which is being in preparation).
Indeed. My point is that the present status, IMHO, is suboptimal. And an
approach analogue to the one in the standard sidebar (I mean, the one present
in Writer, Calc, etc) could be an improvement.
