Also I think it is a good attitude to realize that the past design of menu
etc has been done by full time professionals, so that understanding of the
choices they made, helps with preparing changes.
I do not believe that the design of the menu was done with that much of
understanding and was simply done to resemble microsoft office's menus. This
was the same for the toolbars.
There were enough complaints about differences. And currently we look at othe
applications too. So I would propose to adapt a nuanced view here :)
