--- Comment #3 from Jay Philips <philipz85@hotmail.com> ---
Hi Stew,
(In reply to V Stuart Foote from comment #2)
Yes additional commands like this are needed, and assume the buttons for
these new .uno commands would be left unselected, on the Formatting toolbar
in this case.
The intent in the future is to have an font effects split/group button that
would have all the different font effect commands in it, so embossed and
engraved would be in the drop down as well (attachment 103420).
To be available from the Visible buttons or Customize toolbar dialog?
Otherwise, I thought we were clearing away some the of the toolbar and menu
item crud.
Once created, it would be hidden in the formatting toolbar for users to enable
it if they wish until the split/group button is created.
Ask that because we seem to have an issue already with too many buttons
being assigned to specific toolbars and making the toolbar annoying to
configure.
For example, with current master, in Writer Standard toolbar there are 59
buttons and separators assigned to the Visible Buttons menu. With this many
items in the menu, it displays taller than my 1080 pixel monitor.
The Visible Buttons menu has one major problem with it, it disappears after you
enable/disable a single button (bug 85786). With this major problem, i always
go into Customize Toolbar... if i need to enable/disable more than one button.
Once that is solved, using the submenu would be simple to use.
At my laptop's screen resolution of 1280x768, the 4.3 releases Visible Buttons
menu is larger than the height of the screen.
Many of these hidden entries will be going away once split/group buttons are
created for them. I was hoping that it would have made it into 4.4, as they are
part of my toolbar proposal (bug 81475), but that isnt likely. There are
buttons that i've hidden as part of the proposal, and am awaiting the reaction
from the public on the current changes in order to eliminate them from the
toolbar.
Made more annoying bcz the down scroll button for the menu widget slips
under the Windows taskbar in full screen mode.
You can use the scrollwheel to cycle up and down. :D
