Hi,
can you please have a look at this feature suggestion:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/**show_bug.cgi?id=38164<https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38164>
It suggests to copy the behavior of PowerPoint which scrolls through the
slides with the mouse wheel (not on the sidepane only, but also the actual
edited Slide).
It would only move to the next/previous Slide, if the Slide is fully
shown. If it is zoomed, it will scroll down/up.
What do you think about that?
Personally I sometimes found it useful when looking for a specific Slide
in a huge presentation in PowerPoint, but more often it annoyed me that it
moved to another Slide when I just wanted to scroll down.
I've been an outspoken proponent of a continuous view [1] or a paginated
view [2] instead of the rigid single-slide view we have now, but if we are
to keep the current view, I would be in favor of the slide scrolling
proposal. I would, however, recommend having the same behavior for both a
zoomed-in and a fully shown slide and I would favor requiring a certain
minimum amount of overscroll to move to the next slide.
Ideally, we should have some kind of overscroll effect. I would suggest
scrolling down would gradually push the current slide screen up to reveal
the new slide screen, but darkened. Scrolling further would light it up
until it would slide into view, not scrolling further would just bounce
back to the current slide.
I haven't tried Chrome's history overscroll (it's not in the stable
version) [3], but it might work similarly.
Please tell me if I explained it adequately or if it would be doable.

(not
exactly like this; imagine it more like Chrome's home screen pagination,
with the slide at the forefront and two very discreet arrows at the sides).
